This What they Git? More Fallout from CoonFest Weekend!

I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE COON FEST AT ALL REALLY. THE LATE GENERAL, whether u people accept it or not, IS ONE OF THE REASONS THIS FESTIVAL AT PBS WILL NEVER EVER BE THE SAME AGAIN!

N E WAY, Below is something interesting. "THEY" SHOULDN'T have BEEN paying to fly all the way up this mug in order to PERFORM ANYWAYS (thereby contributing much to Coonati economy) FOR THIS COON STUFF. but i know as a PAST "NORMA DESMOND" about making the dolla. And if u gonna do it, u better pay a muthafucka. But below's rant is concerning this past weekend in lieu of all of these crooks like luigi-Santangelo-Corleone.

But looks like our buddy-girl BROADNAX IS BACK. c below. have fun laughing at it. watch my show 2nite.

Hello All,

It's your friend, and fellow musician XXXXXXXXX here to share vital information about another snake in the industry you should avoid!! Local Cincinnati "Jazz aficionado/promoter" Dr. Walter Broadnax, Jr. He often promotes Jazz at the Hyatt and other events.

Dr. Broadnax scheduled events in Cincinnati during the 'Cincinnati Jazz Festival' July 26-29, 2006. Dr. Broadnax booked headliner Patrice Rushen and Ndugu Chancler for performances during that time. Long story short, Dr. Broadnax canceled the main event(s), scheduled for Friday, July 28 and Saturday, July 29. The main event(s) were promoted as "Jazz at The Hyatt," Friday July 28 and Saturday July 29. The events were canceled at the last minute on Friday July 28th!

The artist arrived in Cincinnati, only to be returned home. The headliners were allegedly "wired" a portion of the monies owed, after bank hours, on Friday. At the time of this email, the headliner is still owed money AND most of the other artist/acts have not been paid. The time is 11:45pm on Friday July 28, 2006.

You may ask, "why is XXXXX sending this?" First of all, I am one who traveled to Cincinnati from Atlanta, at my own expense, to perform and I have not been paid. Two, Dr. Broadnax and counterpart Mike Wade have blamed, in part, the lack of patronage from the citizens of Cincinnati, the Hyatt, the artist and just about everyone other than the promoter! Finally, artist are often criticized for show cancellations, late starts and even poor performances. Many times the promoter is the catalyst for things going wrong at a show. The general public is almost never privy to the truth and the artist(s) get(s) a bad wrap. Nowadays, when a promoter or artist are at fault, it is imperative that the truth be revealed. For clarity. A promoter booked an event, claims to have lost money two days prior to said event; therefore, cancels said event the afternoon of the event and blames the cancellation, in part, to a lack of support at two of his other events. If any of that makes sense to any artist, patron, citizen, music lover, etc. PLEASE explain!

Best Regards to all, XXXXXXXX
